Causes of recurrent pregnancy loss
Two or more occurrences of pregnancy loss are termed as recurrent pregnancy loss. When a pregnancy term ends involuntarily within or before 20 weeks, it is called pregnancy loss. This is a clinically recognized term used to describe this condition where a female is able to conceive but unable to complete the term successfully.
Causes of recurrent pregnancy loss
Most of the time, genetic and physiological abnormalities cause repeated loss in pregnancy terms. Due to the abnormalities in the reproductive system, a pregnancy term is not completed and is subjected to a miscarriage.
As per the experts of the best fertility centre in India, 12% to 15% of recognized pregnancies end in miscarriages. However, an estimated 30% to 60% of conceptions end within 3 months of gestation. It has also been found that the risk increases with the occurrence of miscarriages over time.
Advancing age is also a reason for miscarriage. Even if the patient is able to conceive, the latter conditions are not allowing an embryo to survive not more than 20 weeks. Improper shape of uterus is also a reason.

A comprehensive medical test will be performed by the fertility experts in a clinic. Every history related to medical, family, surgical, and genetics will be considered to find the cause. On further detailing, the chromosomal analysis will also be done to find any genetic abnormality present in the female causing miscarriages. Chromosomal karyotype abnormalities rarely occur.
The uterine cavity is evaluated using various ways such as ultrasound, MRI, X-Ray, hysterosalpingography, etc. An ultrasound is done first.
